I think GP genuinely liked competing against BYU. It made his program better
Because they had a focus.
I was a Bronco supporter but this was a key missing in his system. Patterson put BYU helmets on his tackling dummies. He understood what it took to win those types of games. It wasn't personal. It was competition.
