Not all players that played those first 5 years were all "Crowtons" it generally
only takes 2-3 years for a coaches players to come in, even at BYU. Most likely a lot of those players would have chosen BYU regardless of Bronco or Crowton.
Not to mention, Bronco was on the coaching staff. He clearly had a hand in recruiting while the D-coordinator.
