Let's say BYU, CSU, Houston, and Cincy get the nod in 2016. So, if KU/OSU/OU/UT/WVU leave, the Big 12 would still have nine schools. I'm a believer that the PAC10.2 has no interest in getting any bigger and I don't think any of the above five schools leave for the left coast conference. That said, I would choose the following three schools: Boise, UCF, Memphis.
With three additions, you keep with the current tradition of P5 schools of having divisions and a CCG. Divisions would be as follows:
West: Boise, BYU, CSU, Houston, KSU, TT
East: Baylor, Cincy, ISU, UCF, Memphis, TCU
Each division has two Texas schools and geographically, things are split to minimize long travel. Conference still covers three time zones to maximize TV exposure with early to late start times.
I wouldn't go any further than 12 teams. And no, it sure doesn't look as nice without KU/OSU/OU/UT. I don't care much one way or the other about WVU.
