Because in 2024 things you mentioned in your post may not be true anymore.
They may not control t3 rights. The TV landscape will be completely different. Tying your TV destiny up with isu, ksu, Kansas, tech, TCU is bad business and will catch up with them eventually. The sec and B1G have a much more valuable product.
