The extra steps of first getting the prescription and then going on-line can be
a hassle. Although I have decent optical insurance, it is still cheaper for me to buy glasses and frames on-line.
If I cared more about style, time and had the money to spend...I would buy through a local business. As it is, the quality, time and style difference are not big enough to justify the ~$300 difference.

Bad advice. Besides being cheap and crappy, you should never buy progressive lenses online. They just won't work.
