I would tell them, I attended BYU games at Wyoming while not attending games at Rice Chex. Wyoming fans allow their ignorance to bring out their hate. utah fans allow their hate to bring out their ignorance.

Additionally, when Wyoming's ignorance reached a point of crossing the line, two of Wyoming's boosters threatened to pull their financial support for the program and school. They placed articles in the state's largest newspaper - Casper Tribune letting everyone know how they felt about the behavior of the students and the school. They spoke of the millions of dollars they had donated and will now have to reconsider any further donations... The school immediately made a public apology and we saw an immediate change when visiting Laramie. The two families: Taggart (Insurance) and Nielsen (Husky Oil) made a stand. The crossed line - the student counsel distributed t-shirts on game day stating: F-BYU, F-Joseph Smith, F-Mormons, etc. obviously, the F word was spelled out on the t-shirt.

Some utah boosters may be embarrassed by actions taken by utah's fans and the school's lack of action. The difference is utah's boosters choose to bury their heads in the sand, vs. stepping up like the Taggart and Nielsen families did. I know of a couple of utah's boosters. One is not LDS while the others are. They are all embarrassed by the hatred shown towards neighbors, members of the Church, and sometimes friends. But they are more concerned about losing friends and customers if they stand up for what they believe.
