First off, these current comments are being made and conclusions drawn based on unnamed sources.

Second, are we really that excited to disparage the conference that is about to add us to their ranks?

If they're a stupid conference m, will picking BYU be a similarly stupid move?

It's still entirely possible that the Big12 has been planning for months to add BYU plus another, but have kept these plans from the media. The apparent haphazard moves of the Big12 could be equal parts: 1) bad prognostications and subsequent apologetics by the media, and 2) purposeful misdirection of the media/public for a variety of reasons (Appeasing TX politics, legal reasons, and possibly delaying to allow BYU time to come to a HC tweak that is acceptable to the BoT and the Big12.

Big picture, I realize that we all get frustrated with the length of the process, but BYU will be in the conference and many fans will look like hypocrites if they go around saying how dumb the Big12 is now.
