defensive timeouts are worse, however, because you shouldn't need the time do what you wrote about. if you do, then it's a failure on your part. defensive football is much less complicated, so you shouldn't have a need for a timeout. if you're fatigued, you should be doing more cardio.
offensively, you have much more going on, and the odds of you making a critical third down are much less than you stopping one. for this reason, you may want to dot your I's and cross your T's, and take a minute to speak with your QB to ensure that he knows what you're looking for. oh, and that may be occurring when you're in a two minute drill. you may want to ensure that you haven't wasted a TO on defense in the third quarter. there is simply so much more going on the offensive side of the ball.
