It's turnover margin. Based on opponent, BYU is expected to be at +1.75, but
it is at +6.
Based on opponent, Boise is expected to be at +2.13, but is at -3.
I guess my statement might be somewhat inaccurate because the number could be driven by the fact that BYU's defense has generated more turnovers than expected whereas Boise's defense hasn't. You raise a good point--I edited the post.
