Raw yardage is a very noisy measure. You need context.
Both of these teams are good at running the ball Colorado State is #44 overall and New Mexico is #11 overall (#4 in big plays).
Plus, it doesn't matter if you generate high yards per carry if you can't sustain it and get first downs.
I don't think that their rush defense has been suspect, but I do agree that this is the most critical area of the game for BYU.
