I am good friends with one the main donors at the U. Hill and KW are not close and not on the same page. They have been at odds on assistants and many topics. KW does not get along well with assistants (Kalani likes him but wanted to get away), how many OC's has he had? KW wants to be in control, Hill wants to be in control and the assistants got pushed around, thus various departures.

Various donors were not happy. KW had bad 2012 and 2013 seasons, the offense was horrible in 2014 and there were likely departures to happen. Hill knew Sitake may leave, he wanted to have his own space from KW (money was an issue at first but it came down to the fact Sitake wanted to leave KW). Donors were on board with him leaving.

It is not accurate that "If he wanted Whit gone he would not have done that. Hill knows what he has in a coach and he will keep Whit their for a long time.". Hill wants him gone and has tried to do so.

Hill had coordinated the big donors to buy out Whit and show him the door. This happened late in the 2014 season, they wanted to go after Anderson who they know was not ecstatic in Wisconsin. The money was ready and Hill wanted to drop the hammer to bring in Anderson, even after he verbally committed to OSU. Anderson said he had interest in being in Utah, so did his wife. They other target would have been Mullen who they believed may be interested to get out of the SEC and get back to Utah.

Hill hosted a call with the big donors just prior to the season finale vs CU and decided if KW lost they would have momentum to move. Utah won, that Sunday they had another call and decided to go to the President for approvals. The President of the University nixed getting rid of KW given the record was ok and it was not worth bad PR and some money for new contracts etc.

Personally it would have been dumb to get rid of KW, but it is what it is.

You can question all this. I did not sit on the calls, but I personally sat there with the donor with Hill on the phone coordinating the conference call that evening. I without a doubt forgot a detail or two, but this was it. They joked if Anderson reneged on the OSU deal (which had not yet been signed) and went to Utah, there is a chance OSU would go after and get Bronco and KW goes to BYU......a huge trade between 3 teams.

Believe it or not, but your info is off. I highly doubt your BIL was in these conversations. What do you expect at a BBQ for the staff and AD? A screaming match?
