He's absolutely right. Independence is slowly killing BYU football.

We have no rivalry games, and all we have to play for is bowl eligibility, with the reward being playing in crappy bowl games like the Poinsettia Bowl. I'd rather a MWC championship than win the Poinsettia Bowl. Every year since independence BYU football has become less and less exciting. We're not headed in a good direction.
