What they do really doesn't require them to. They are game manager types generally and Bateman couldn't even do that well enough to remain their starter. I don't want to just sit here and knock on the kid but the truth is you're either good enough or you aren't. Occasionally you get a situation where two really good qb's are at the same school and since only one qb plays that makes it tough on the one that isn't playing because he is probably good enough play most other places, I just don't think that is the case in this instance based on the fact that Alabama qb's are generally not superstars.
