The triple option is the original first generation spread.
The prostyle is not a talent equalizing offense. It can be a mismatch against teams that have downsized on D to compat 3rd gen spreads, but prostyle is still an 11-11 matchup offense more than spreads that try to make the game a series of favorable 1-1 matchups.
I thought Ken N was the ideal hire because unlike GT competing in the ACC where all the schools are familiar with scheming against the triple option annually or semiannually, BYU as an independent is NOT a recurring scheduling matchup, and teams would be unprepared for a triple option.

I think Ty's offense will work great once the O-Line recruiting kicks in and he has the personnel to run it.
