but I would disagree.
In the 9 years that Johnson has been head coach, he has a 69-48 record (.590 PCT), and has won 10+ games twice, including 3 division championships and 1 conference title (that was later vacated). While that may not be the same level of success of a team like Alabama or Ohio St., for Georgia Tech it is about as good as can be expected. Georgia Tech has had 9 coaches since 1968, none have won more games then Johnson and the only one with a higher winning percentage is George O'Leary. In fact for comparison sake, here's how they lay out:
Paul Johnson:
69-48 (.590)
10+ wins in a season: 2
Conference titles: 1 (Vacated)
Division titles: 3
George O'Leary:
53-30 (.639)
10+ wins in a season: 1
Conference Titles: 1
All others since 1968:
186-186-8 (.500)
10+ wins in a season: 1
Conference titles: 1
Outside of O'Leary, you have to go all the way back to Bobby Dodd in the 50's and 60's to find a coach at GT that has had as much success as Johnson has.
