academic freedom and gay rights, so BYU has just as much of a chance with the BIG as it does with the Pac 12. In fact, less so, since the Pac is a far more natural geographic fit for BYU, and if BYU and the Church ever made the changes they require, the Pac would almost certainly invite us before the Big Ten would.
So, my point is that talking about the Big Ten is just as unrealistic as talking about the Pac 12, if not more so.
And missions have nothing to do with this topic, for either conference, IMO. Sunday play is a factor, but very minor compared to the others I mentioned above, IMO -- at least for the Pac 12 and Big Ten.
