I think we may underestimate at times how much the chance to play in the NFL matters to players coming out of high school. The best way that most of them can decide is by watching the past. It's part of the reason that so many 5-star players commit to Alabama year after year. They may have to sit the bench for a year or two, but when they play and excel they see the NFL as their future. I was reading the interview with Tuifua on Scout and that's exactly why he is looking at the U. The U "sends its defensive linemen to the NFL". Bronco and Co missed the boat on this point.
Of the many things that I think that Coack Sitake is going to help with, it's going to be getting players from BYU a solid chance to get to the NFL. In the meantime that's a selling point that we don't have compared to the folks we are recruiting against.
Go Cougs.
