After major injuries, both pre-season and during, he had to lead a team with no upperclassmen for about a 3rd of the season. Missions are really hard to deal with, even more so in basketball. Then he had unexpected transfers. Both Toolson and Chatman seemed to seek greener pastures for one reason or another. Not their fault, but I don't think it was Coach Rose's issue either. That stuff happens to the best coaches and can lead to a down year.

For me, the players need to take more responsibility in the on-court performance. I would like to see new blood in the assistant coaching ranks. Some of the hires don't seem to make sense for me. But, I also know how historically cheap BYU is and I am sure it is much easier said that done in trying to get high level assistants and great recruiters to come to the Cougars.
