That would certainly be elite. Only one conference got 50% of their members
Into the tournament and that was the ACC with 8 out of 14 I think.

If BYU was where most of us think it should be we'd have 3 teams in the tournament regularly right now.

What we need is for a couple other teams to step up in a big way. I think we're starting to see that. There are 6 new coaches in the league in the last 2 years. Several of them are not low profile hires. Pepperdine has been improving until this year when they got decimated by injuries. Santa Clara and USF took big steps forward this year with first year coaches. USF in particular was a top 100 RPI team and had some really good wins (including at Utah). Santa Clara and USF also have several 3 star commits right now which is really good for them. With the success they had in year one under a new coach and their rich history I think we could see USF expload in recruiting the next few years and start making the NIT regularly and become at least a semi regular participant in the NCAA.

I've said before, but I predict in the next 5-7 years the WCC will have as many as 5 teams in the tournament in the same year. At least 4 teams in that time.

In short, I think the pieces are there for the WCC to take another step forward in the next couple years. We're currently a top 10 conference more often than not. We could start competing for top 6 or 7 on a regular basis and become more like the Big East if we get a few teams to take big steps forward and the really bad teams to become ... not so terrible.
