Just to clarify: I'm not saying BYU athletes are intrinsically good people
I'm just saying that after seeing the impact that CB's negativity can have on our athletes' families I asked myself these two questions:
1. What do I benefit from reaming our athletes for poor performance?
2. What harm could I potentially do by reaming our athletes for poor performance?
For me, question #2 outweighs question #1 without a doubt. Criticism might be technically justified, but it's just not worth it to me any longer.

It is usually the other way around. I assume they are all great until I personally get to know them/interact with them.

Not really. But I did meet a former BYU athlete who transferred away from BYU and his wife HATED the things that were
