Preneur, on the one hand, took no offense where none was intended. He recognized that a visitor to an area he grew up in and knew well would see this area as it was, and he appreciated the mildly humorous approach to it's description. He saw no slight to the people who live in the surrounding areas, because none was mentioned. The only caricature about ANYBODY was about the two fine gentleman possibly involved in a drug deal, which he laughingly said was probably accurate due to the description. You'll notice I mentioned nothing about Elmo, Price, Helper or even Wellington (which exists to give tickets to unsuspecting motorists traveling 1 MPH over the limit).

Preneur also laughed along about the fire hydrant in the middle of nowhere. He added to the story by telling us how his family uses it, but had no clue why it was there.

He also added some great legend to my account of the Victor cemetery. It is flat out awesome that this cemetery has a ghost legend.

That is the way to Cougarboard, and my hat is off to him.

You, on the other hand, after mistakenly calling the area the San Rafael Swell, took offense that I didn't find it a paradise on earth. Apparently this is because you have only a few fond memories of camping with your father somewhere in the vicinity, including the Dinosaur Quarry (which I reported was nice). I'm sorry you don't have more memories with your father, but those fleeting memories, while cherished, should in no way be lessened by the fact that the area where you had them looks like the backside of a molting spidermonkey. You inferred slight to a people of the area where none was given or even implied. You got worked up for nothing, rather than having fun with an obviously fun-spirited post.

That is not the way to Cougarboard. That's a way to get your blood pressure up. I'll keep my hat on for now.
