we let our son help with finishing our basement, 1400 sq ft and then they
moved it rent free for a couple of years. They want to buy a house, but we are considering having them just move upstairs and we will go buy another house and they can rent the basement for the mortgage. No reason for another generation to pay for a house for 30 years instead of investing thousands of dollars a month into other equities.
