Most players don't make "Millions" playing in Europe.
While it's not a bad living (100k to 150k per year for most expats), it's not as glamorous as it sounds. Also, sometimes the teams just can't make payroll.
Also, the Spanish, Russian, and Italian leagues aren't easy to just go over and get into. Usually you start out in places like Turkey, Israel, Belgium, etc. and hope you get the chance to play in Spain, Italy or Russia.
