I have two
Busted left thumb when trying to steal the ball in HS BB game. Bone stuck out thru skin. Looked pretty ugly.
It felt numb, so I covered it with the other hand and walked over to the cheerleaders. Two fainted when I said, "Doesn't this look cool", and unveiled it.
20th reunion and they wee still talking about it.
30th reunion and they still haven't forgiven me.
Other event...
I was reffing an adult Church BB game and had to eject the substitute coach when he got too upset over a questionable call by my officiating partner. He was the Bishop. Two weeks later I was sustaining him as the Stake Patriarch.
When he spoke after being sustained he mentioned pondering what he could do to keep close to the Spirit so tat he could fulfill his calling. He said that his conclusion was that he needed to avoid driving in rush hour traffic, ans stay away from Church basketball.
He made me feel special. 😎
