In Noah Hartsock's final two years our bigs made 55 three pointers
In the last 5 years our bigs have made 55 three pointers. 11 of those came from Augustin Ambrosino who was completely allergic to ever stepping foot in the paint on offense and defense. 10 of those threes came from Jakob Hartsock who was often used as a small forward but I threw those on there just because...in reality Jakob was rarely ever pulling a big man out of the paint to guard him. Nate Austin made 7 threes as a freshman (noah's senior year), 3 as a sophomore, 2 as a junior, 1 as a senior.1, and 0 as a senior.2

In the age of basketball where everyone shoots the three, how can mormons not find some 6'10 white kids who can shoot the rock and knock down 15 threes a year...or in the case of Nate Austin, how was he not coached to develop and shoot his three point shot? So often Nate was used to reset the offense at the top of the key and get the ball back to the PG.....but there was never an attempt to guard him because he would never shoot.

Our spacing was awful this year. The paint was a jumbled mess this year when any guard stepped foot in the paint. We really need Dastrup and Andrus to become stretch player. We need the Gonzaga Mika (if he comes back) that was hitting 15 foot jumpers and freeing up the paint. We need Childs to continue developing that 15 foot baseline jumper.

If I had to pick, I'd rather have bigs who can box out consistently and can (unctoothman, Apr 7, 2017 at 2:29pm)
