I had a discectomy in 2011. I was told to check in at 11:15 to get all my pre-op work done.
I was back in the pre-op room, in a gown, and ready by 12:30pm. I was finally wheeled into the OR at 7:00pm.
It really sucks bring kept in the dark figuratively and waiting for a long time. And I work in the medical field and understand that emergencies come up, things happen. It doesn't make it any less sucky though.
