Thanks for making my point. Comparing different eras gives flawed results.
Ainge played in, I believe 118 of 119 possible games, for an average of just under 30 games a year.

Emery has played in 70 of 73 possible games, for an average of 35 games a year.

6 - 9 more games per year, 3-pt rule, 3-pt foul rule, Bonus+ foul rule... all lead to more scoring opportunities, making scoring comparisons between current players and those who played 35 years ago questionable.
