For some reason, fans never warmed up to him.

Ty Detmer left some pretty big shoes to fill. Also, the fact that he wasn't LDS and allegedly liked to party may have been a factor as well. I thought he was a good underrated quarterback. That 1994 season was pretty fun. The loss to Utah stung, but we also beat Notre Dame and Oklahoma that year as well.
