Even though he had an awful 2016 season Taysom has a few things going for him.

1- He has a really strong arm, not exactly accurate or touch but he can throw it hard. I think NFL QB coaches look at that and think he is worth giving a shot to the same way Heaps was worthy of a shot even though his college career was nowhere near Taysom's.

2- He is really intelligent. Ty brought in a really different playbook for Taysom's final year. According to reports Tanner struggled with it but Taysom picked it up, even though he obviously didn't have the year we all expected of him, this is also not to mention his degree background and his understanding of the business world.

3- Taysom is an athlete. The guy is a freak of nature with his combination of speed, size and strength. Combine that with his intelligence and it makes sense that he was picked up by a team with a legit need of a backup.

Overall I think Taysom had a great shot at making a roster or practice squad. It would be great to go to a preseason game this year and see both Taysom and Jamaal lining up in the backfield together In a NFL uniform.
