that we gained by beating LSU. When we beat Miami we then lost to either Oregon or Oregon State (can't remember), so we lost what we gained. No one will go "they are no good because they lost to LSU", but they will say the LSU game was a total fluke or cite the fact that it was our second game vs. their first (everyone knows the biggest improvement comes between the first and second game) if we then go and lose to Utah on our home field in what is supposed to be a down year. If we lost to LSU and won the rest of our games or lost to Wisc., we would be ranked higher than if we beat LSU and then lost to Utah and Wisc. What good did it do us to beat Neb. and Boise because we lost the next two? A Utah win is better, in many ways than an LSU win, if we lose the next two.
