I'm sure in a national tournament teams wouldn't accommodate BYU, that is how
USA Rugby kept BYU from competing for the NC for a couple decades.
On an individual team basis or in a conference teams have been happy to accommodate BYU because it is good for ticket sales.
Everyone is looking out for themselves all the time.
Of note, the NCAA defends and accommodates all sorts of "progressive" causes so it isn't exactly a stretch to find a way for one team to play their games on 6 of the 7 days each week. It is hardly a burden or a competitive advantage.
