We often think of those who gave their lives in service during the war, and rightly so.
However we forget the lifelong toll war has on the mind and body of those who returned. War is never glorious. It is never beautiful or cool or easy. My father gave his physical health and mental sanity to the U.S. and is ostracized to this day by those who just don't understand. I don't even understand completely, and he wants it that way because in that small way, that I will never know what he went through completely, he still protects me and my family.

Thank you for your service. God bless you and your family.
