Ended up having to replace the mother board. Luckily I am paranoid (as shown in other threads) and had purchased the $250 warranty that includes a yearly checkup as well as any repairs free and a lemon replacement. So the $400 repair on a 18 month old fridge was covered.

I would suggest googling repair forums with your model and symptoms. I have fixed everything from our washer and dryer to our garage door opener by doing this. You can buy replacement parts online or at appliance repair shops.
