I wouldn't count on that
It may be true sometimes, but I wouldn't want to chance it. About 10 years ago I missed an international flight (SLC-AMS) by just minutes and was at the airport 90 minutes early. This was on a Saturday and this was before you could curb-check international bags. I now have Global Entry, so I'm usually through TSA fairly quickly, but you never know.
