They are "pellet grills". Grilling those on a pellet grill does give it a

little bit of a smoky flavor, but it is still grilling it and not actually smoking it. Even the Traeger infomercials refer to some of the cooking you can do on there as "grilling" as opposed to "smoking". There is the ability to smoke things on there as well but that is done differently than the grilling aspect.
