Really? I think the overall team performance caused many to overlook how strong

of a freshman campaign TJ Haws had.

14 pts and 3 assists on 40% shooting from deep is pretty solid for first year in D1 fresh off a mission: http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4066657/tj-haws

He has to reign in the TO's and improve defensively, but he's an exciting player with a pretty incredible skillset. I think the fanbase cooled on him b/c of the attitude that flared up from time to time, plus bad shot selection at times. It hurt his likability a bit, but I think it remains that he's a rare talent and could be poised for a big year.

Emery I also think will make strides now that he seemed to by year end accept more of a "3 and D" role vs the next Jimmer.

If you look at Emery's game log from last year, notice how his shot attempts

It is remarkable that TJ's shot % was so good for he took many poor shots. i expect him to change that for the better

TJ is way more athletic and has way more upside than his brother, but listening to most on here you'd never know it.

Good summary. Agree offense should be better. Defense is a concern. Having a hard time seeing D improving.

You have to project BYU at #3, given that SMC and Zags are projected to be top 20 teams. Cougs can still be improved.
