We live in a different age now. If you want to excel in a sport...

You have to dedicate far more time to it than we did 30 and 40 years ago. The competition will never stop getting better. So we have to choose. Do we want 100% mutual attendance for every single activity, or do we want to start on the team or make it to the state tournament and get a scholarship etc? It makes me curious about how many eagle scouts are on the BYU team today vs 40 years ago. I think it's a matter of choosing your battle.
