In some instances, you can find better deals if you look outside of the big name
cities. We usually go anywhere from Newport to Cannon Beach/Seaside, but there are lots of little towns in between. Also, if you're willing to not be right on the beach, you can save about 30-50%. My wife and I did a weekend in Ecola Bay, and stayed about 1/8 of a mile from the beach, and it was drastically less expensive than right on the sand.
