I'm pretty sure that their parents are not to blame.
Because if the parents of millennials are horrible, then we would have to blame THEIR parents. That would mean that the grandparents of millennials would also be culpable. But then we also have to blame the GREAT-grandparents of millennials. It is a very slippery slope.

Thus, millennials are completely a product of their own myopic world views. Otherwise we would have to implicate the Gen Xers, the Baby Boomers and the Golden Generation in creating the mess and they are pretty much the people that built America. That's why I'm a big fan of getting rid of indoor plumbing and quality health care. Previous generations did not have those things and it made them insanely tough and highly skilled at finding quality jobs in the market place.
