I agree with you, though, that speculation and negative assumptions are bad. When his brother is acting as an emissary and dumping all over BYU, I'm not sure too much speculation or assumptions are in play -- unless you speculate and assume that the brother is lying. But then, isn't that negative speculation and negative assumptions?
