SEC, B10 see us on schedule & think "tough game." With each new Mich, Wisc(this time, played tough last time), LSU game, our 80s, 90s rep gets further in rear view. My biggest hope, big nasty OLs w depth, continuity of multi year starters, that's the single most important, tangible, & doable key to getting back to perennial top 25.

Conf is up there on my list, as I've said, Indy was a stopgap, temp solution. Even w ESPN shekels, Indy is stunting the progress/grwth potential of program. I don't wanna rtn to MWC and wouldn't see it as positive solution. But, I very much conf play. Seems like younger dudes kinda mock our old MWC opponents & see 1 off or H/H w SEC or B10 as far superior. I don't. We played those teams back then. Not one or the other deal.

The hitting, intensity & quality of the games vs AF, CSU, WYO, SDSU(some years) etc & conf race is something Indy just hasn't been able to provide for me. My emotional & fired up factor. Might be A subpar CSU, Wyo, NM, SDSU team, yet always great competition. I think we can get where we need to be, but every mistake & the consequences get more serious. I love KS hire, but not inexp coordinators w a new inexp HC. Gotta rtn to continuity w multi year starter QB, OL, & pipeline of exp WR & RB talent. Margin of error is getting pretty tight for the BYU FB program.

Sacrelig, I know, but the things Utah does right enabling them to have success consistently isn't magic, or luck & is something we could & should be capable of even with HC & our talent pool. Boise St probably another good model. I don't buy for a second we can't be accomplishing the success & consistency like those programs. But, w ESPN unstable, only takes a change of mgmt & they go a diff direction, it's go time re every decision & move w our program. I do worry re momentum of our trajectory, as we need a conf & the one benefit to offer a conf that we can change is winning.

We need this staff, & Tanner to turn this ship around. I think he's the best prosp in 20 years, & don't believe a shaky OL vs good talent means he's suddenly lost it & bring on the next guy. He's the guy imo, I just hope this staff & team don't crumble emotionally. As my Granpappy liked to say, "It's nut-cuttin time boy, let's get to woik."(I lasted for 1 snip before fleeing and doin an Excorcist stylee projectile vomit. Too much for the 8 y o lad too witness up close. So, my stream o consciousness rant has come to an end, you guys stay frosty, stay aerodynamic.
