I have found my interest in both sports diminished by the mediocre records of both programs. The WCC seems more like a temporary warehouse for basketball than a challenge. Other than St. Mary's and Gonzaga, no one cares about the other schools. No the pre-conference schedule looks dull.
With football, 1 loss means that BYU is only playing for bowl eligibility at some lower tier bowl that will sign away its invitation in advance. 3/4 of the schedule is against G5 schools from the MWC or AAC. TCU and Utah have really blossomed in P5, and I think BYU is in worse shape now than it was in 2011.
