set our sites on a playoff but my point is that it will never happen due to our restrictions. If you base your fandom on going to a playoff, you will be perpetually disappointed. There is a difference between hope and expectations.

As for comparing our potential to 30 years ago, CFB and BYU and recruiting are MUCH different now. You can't compare our current situation in 2017 to 1984 or even 1991. Even Ty and players on the team in 1984 would agree with me.

Further, you gave me an example of three players who haven't been at BYU for 15+ years. The top 15-20 programs could fill up a spread sheet with all of their stars. We have only a few to name. Why? The HC and affiliation to the LDS church. It's in our genes. Time to own it and adjust our expectations and hope for the best.
