Both Ed Lamb and Tuiaki confirmed it on their weekly interview yesterday. Said the coaches thought it would be better for the players to rest, catch up on school, and get ready for this week’s practice. All of the coaches hit the recruiting trail instead.

Our offense and defense is kind of broken right now. I would think practicing the schemes that are needed to beat USU for 2 weeks would give us an advantage in this game. Could you imagine either Utah or Utah State having byes before playing us and taking one of the weeks off?

If we were clicking on some areas and just needed to heal up, I could understand the move. This makes no sense to me. We missed an opportunity for the team to get better, fix mistakes, and install new schemes that will help us succeed. We’re down to our 2nd string QB. I bet he’d benefit from the additional reps with his teammates.

What am I missing here? It’s almost like the coaches know this is a lost season so they all hit the recruiting trail to focus on future years.
