There are a large number of G5 teams better than we are this year. There's usually a couple that fall into that category, depending on the year. However, it's also true that BYU does indeed dwarf all of these G5 programs in facilities, attendance, revenue, fan base, viewership, history, etc. That's not opinion. That's fact. None of that makes us P5, but it is what it is. Because of these strengths, we have the ability to go it alone, thereby able to schedule up and negotiate our own media deals. We don't belong to a G5 conference, don't get to participate in their G5 bowl slot, and therefore are not G5. We're also not P5. We're independent. Doesn't make us better, worse, or anything else.
