That is exactly what we have this year, and you're saying its overscheduled.
As you prescribed, we faced literally 1 top 10 opponent, and did so at home. LSU was 13 when we played them, but they aren't ranked anymore, their preseason ranking was just inflated. You say we need to dial back to ASU, UCLA, Arizona and Utah (basically a Pac 12 schedule minus USC, Washington and normally Oregon I take it), but we did play Utah, and I beleive ASU, UCLA, and Arizona are everybit as difficult at USU, unranked LSU, Boise and Portland St.
