I certainly don't mean to toot my horn here, but beating the market isn't some
impossible thing. The S&P YTD return is something like 16.07%. My personal index of mutual funds is up over 20% right now (Wife and my IRAs and work 401k).

Can it happen over the course of years/decades...yeah I think so. I've out performed the market the past 5 years, so half way to a decade for me.

Is this uncommon or am I missing something?
