Whenever i lived in the USA it was in the Houston area, and had nothing but amazing hospitality. (The hurricane response shows a lot of that). Our next door neighbors, when they found out we were LDS, ordered every anti book they could find to better understand us. They would invite us over for dinner and during the prayer on the food, they would pray for our souls and that we would see the error of our ways so we wouldn't be dragged down to hell. They legitimately believed it but were still nice to the end. By the end of our first 6 months, they were totally won over and our families became best of friends. To this day they still are. (and we have many families within the neighborhood with similar experiences, that I still have to see every time I am in Texas).
