Agreed. BYU just lost 16-10 to UMass. Hard to fault the defense for that.
Even against LSU the defense did an admirable job of keeping the game much closer than it really was. The offense never crossed midfield - that puts an enormous amount of pressure on the defense, especially when playing a road game against an SEC team.
But there are plenty of people on CB who will call you an idiot for defending the defense in any way.
