At this point it is the entire team
Let’s face the facts we play a slow game nobody is going to run up the score on byu. Why?

1- BYU Burns 3 minutes off the clock even on a 3 & out. There are literally only 60 minutes in a game
2- BYU defense will give up 4 -7 yards a rush and 5-8 a pass every play if the other team will take it meaning that drives can take up to ten minutes. It is like tempting the other team to get impatient.

If we give up 24 points a game that means the other team had the ball for probably 35 minutes of productive time. Make one stop and you can add 5 minutes on there. 40 minutes for them and 20 minutes for us. So now you might say the offense needs longer drives. And I would say no the defense needs to get off the field.

Offense is rhythm based and defense is effort based. Theory says that more effort disrupts rhythm. Our Defense seems to dictate a slow rhythm and our offense is stagnant.

The entire thing stinks and needs an overhaul. But the defensive team doesn’t even get to a championship if it doesn’t embrace both sides.
